How We Started
Back in 2019, I was working at a regional bank and kept seeing the same pattern. People wanted to invest but felt overwhelmed by complex terminology and conflicting advice online. They'd either avoid investing entirely or make decisions based on incomplete information.
That's when BeamCurrent began. Not as a grand business plan, but as weekend workshops for friends and colleagues who wanted straightforward explanations about market fundamentals. We started in a small conference room, using whiteboards to break down concepts like risk assessment and portfolio diversification.
What surprised me was how quickly people grasped these concepts when presented clearly. By 2022, we'd helped over 300 individuals develop their own investment strategies. Each person brought unique circumstances and goals, which taught us that effective financial education must be adaptable.
